Eco Fan

Eco Fan

The Eco fan is a low voltage air extraction unit, specifically designed to operate in the sub-floor wall.

This unit operates on 12 volt DC power, has quiet operation and is very efficient to run.

It is designed to draw out up to 4,000 litres of air per minute allowing fresh air to replenish the sub floor areas through additional or existing static wall vents. When installing an Eco fan it is also advisable to change any existing static terracotta vents to the brass wire mesh type vents due to the increase in air flow it will allow, making the system more effective.

This unit is installed onto an external wall to the sub floor area.

Being an air extraction unit, vents are necessary and, similar to the cross flow required when using air bricks, the air must be able to pass unimpeded through the sub floor from the existing (or additional if required) vents to the Eco fan opposite. These vents must not be covered or concealed by gardens and landscaping.

Homes that are double brick, terraces, duplexes, have dwarf walls, mounded earth piles in sub floor, on sloping blocks, or stored goods in the sub floor may not be able to achieve proper air flow to the Eco fan due to the above obstacles causing dead spots in circulation and may require a ducted fan system.
